• How the Gap was closed.....

We all know Leeds had a blistering start and we had a mildish hangover from the playoffs.

The Table looked like this on 26th September...after our defeat at Leyton Orient

    Leeds were 15 points ahead..

By the 26th January we had took 6 points off their Lead and Norwich had blasted past them. Were Leeds distratced by their FA Cup run?

A mini wobble by Millwall more than matched by Leeds, so by the 26th February they had blown their game in Hand and another 3 point bite had been taken out of their lead.

The month of March saw their lead gone entirely! A win at Elland Road really starting the panic amongst their fans who wanted Grayson sacked. Some wag even suggested that they should keep him on to win promotion and then sack him!

    2-2 v Huddersfield (A)..........1-0 v Hartlepool (H)
    1-1 v Brentford (H)...............2-2 v Walsall (A)
    4-1 v Tranmere (A)..............3-1 v Carlisle (A)
    0-1 v Southampton (A) .........4-0 v Charlton (H)

    2-1 v Yeovil (A)....................2-1 v Colchester (A)
    2-0 v Southend (H) ..............4-0 v Gillingham (H)
    3-1 v Carlisle (A) .................1-1 v Yeovil (A)
    2-3 v Gillingham (A)..............0-1 v Huddersfield (A)
    4-1 v MK Dons (H).................2-1 v Orient (H)

The last month has seen 2nd place swap hands between Millwall, Leeds and Swindon, with none of them able to keep it for more than a couple of weeks.

Two games to go with virtually identical Goal Diff and Goals scored. One bit of luck may decide the outcome.

Leeds seem to attract bad luck, so lets hope fate isn't fickle!

Leeds go into the Valley of the Anoraks next, Millwall travel up to plastic scouse land. Then the last day games at home, with the Leeds needing to snuff out The Gas, while the Lions face the Robins in a game that may be a promotion decider for both clubs!

When we look back on this season we will see what a great run we have had in 2010.
